A Softswitch that Can Travel Anywhere
Looks like we have another softswitch product option -- The SLICE IP Micro, which is described by company officials as "redefining transportable IP communications."
It’s powered by REDCOM’sTRANSip IP innovation suite, so it can support up to 3,000 VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) subscribers, dual-stack IPv4/IPv6 and configurable conferencing. That’s some serious softswitch power there.
One reason for making it so small and transportable, company officials say, is that it’s easily transportable for remote communications -- nevertheless still powerful enough for corporate applications. It appears the idea behind the SLICE IP Micro is to offer a after a fashion complete VoIP tool in a single platform, where the smaller the footprint the better: "The entire unit is powered by a regular laptop power supply."
