The end all our services will be delivered on mobile
“In the end all our services will be delivered on mobile. People will spend less time in front of their computer screens and more time in front of their smartphones,” Wang said.
The plans are intended to provide a competitive alternative to Android and iOS as the Chinese e-commerce firm attempt to gain a foothold in the booming smartphone and tablet markets.
The OS is primarily cloud-based with features just as email, search and app support not requiring any downloads. Reports recommended in July that the OS would be an altered version of Android, however more recent information points to the OS being Linux-based.
