American Support President Tells White House that More Needs to be Done to Hire Rural Americans

Zemon, who founded Chapel Hill-based, American Support in 2006, was among the 100 or so business leaders to the first Startup America: Reducing Barriers Roundtable discussion held today in Durham, N.C. The White House-initiated roundtable was convened to discuss how federal officials could reduce the barriers preventing entrepreneurs from succeeding.

American Support provides billing, technical and customer support services to cable, telephone and Internet companies. The company leverages cloud computing innovation to allow all of its customer service representatives to work from home. American Support currently has employees located in more than 115 cities in 26 states.

Zemon said he appreciates the administration’s proactive approach to supporting entrepreneurial efforts and willingness to engage in a two-way conversation with business leaders.
