AMX Launches Gigabit Power-over-Ethernet Switch

Atlanta, GA (Vocus) September 23, 2010 -- AMX®, the leading provider of solutions that simplify the implementation, maintenance, and use of technology to create effective environments, today announced the NXA-ENET8PoE Gigabit Ethernet Switch. The installer-friendly Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) switch from AMX comes with 8 x 1000 Base-T ports and offers home and business owners a powerful Gigabit Ethernet network for voice, video and data applications. AMX will be showcasing the new PoE switch in booth #912 at CEDIA 2010, being held September 23-26 in Atlanta.

The powerful yet cost-effective PoE switch greatly eases the control system installation process by transmitting both power and data through a single cable to eight remotely located Power-over-Ethernet-enabled devices such as AMX Touch Panels, Wireless Access Points (WAP), VoIP phones and IP surveillance cameras. Advanced configuration can be achieved with the embedded web-based management interface to improve throughput, data prioritization and security.

The way for a new generation of control

"AMX is paving the way for a new generation of control and automation solutions built on ease of installation and superior performance," said AMX Chief Technology Officer Robert Noble. "Our new Gigabit Ethernet Switch dramatically improves the performance of a network's backbone delivering the throughput needed to support a broad range of advanced network applications and reduced file transfer times."
