Apple confirms March 25 for Australian iPad 2

An Apple Australia spokesperson has confirmed to me via email that Australia will be all the same seeing the iPad 2 on March 25! In the meantime, a leaked and unconfirmed list of Australian iPad 2 pricing has appeared online - details and possible pricing within.

While this has meant that Japan will see its iPad 2 launch pushed back by a month, all of the other countries Apple said would see iPad 2 models on March 25 are for all that in play. This is in spite of some confusion over whether the Czech Republic would as well see a month's delay, and during the Czech iPad 2 page did list April 25 as its launch date, that has now been corrected back to March 25 as was always the intention. Along these lines, other countries around the world due to go iPad 2 on March 25 have been wondering whether they too might see a delay, as happened with the iPad 1, however the good news is that March 25 means March 25 in short. In an email to an Apple spokesperson asking for confirmation that the Australian March 25 launch was definitely even so on, I received a very brief email in response stating that March 25 all the same was the iPad 2 launch date for Australia. So this means this Friday will be one heck of a day, with queues out the front of Apple stores galore, plenty of people who should be at work finding themselves in a queue instead, and plenty of people both happy at getting an iPad 2, and unhappy at missing out - all depending on how much stock is available on day one, clearly!Unfortunately, Apple did not confirm whether the iPad 2 would go on sale locally at 8am or 9am, or at 5pm as was the case in the US, so as always, there is nevertheless speculation on that topic. If lines don't start outside Apple Stores on Wednesday or Thursday, at the time lines will decidedly be starting early Friday morning, so whenever Apple decides to start selling iPad 2s, if you want one on Friday, I wouldn't be turning up at 4.30pm expecting to get a spot in the line - I'd be getting there at sparrow's, otherwise sparrow's the day earlier. There's as well the question of iPad 2 pricing. Apple hasn't officially said anything about it but, yet a Whirlpool reader has leaked what looks like official pricing - please read on to page two to take a look at what that pricing might just be!
