
Apple takes over iCloud.com domain
BANGALORE, INDIA: Apple has taken over the control of cloud storage domain, iCloud.com, as per a Whois domain directory search, reports CNET. The iCloud.com domain, which was owned by Xcerion, was sold to Apple for $4.5 million in May.
Apple, which eyes for 'a cloud-based storage system of the same name', is rumoured to launch the cloud music service while the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco at once week, where its CEO Steve Jobs, who is currently on a medical leave, is believed to be present.As well Read: Apple expected to unveil new streaming service
New domain CloudMe
Xcerion has already moved its 'hybrid cloud computing' service to a new domain CloudMe.com, since iCloud.com now redirects to the latter.
"Apple has reached licensing agreements with three of the four top record companies, including EMI Music, Warner Music, and Sony Music," notes the report.
