AudioCodes Supplies Ymax With Many High Availability Gateways

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. and NETANYA, Israel, Dec 17, 2010 --VocalTec Communications, Ltd.,the inventor of VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), and its affiliate Ymax Communications Corporation, a voice provider to magicJack(R) and magicTalk(TM) users, announce today they have installed Mediant 5000/8000 High Availability Gateways from AudioCodes, a leading provider of VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) and Voice Network products, in dozens of its core switch locations in the United States.

By replacing its core existing Core gateways from another vendor and increasing its earlier installed base of AudioCodes' gateways, Ymax has leveraged the Mediant 5000/8000 carrier-grade gateways to connect its Class 5 switches to local PSTN services using SS7 signaling. Utilizing the Mediant 5000/8000 redundancy, scalability and advanced voice processing capabilities, Ymax can provide its clients superb voice quality and a high level of service availability. As part of the solution, another affiliate of VocalTec, Stratus Telecommunications, provided ENTICE softswitch and session border controllers in each Class 5 switch location.
