BombardierAerospace today announced that it has selected EMS Aviation to providenew increased high-speed internet connectivity as an option for Global5000 and Global 6000 business jets. The new system features ViaSatKu-band communication system and EMS router equipment, providing avirtual office in the sky with typical download speeds as experienced onthe ground*; and complements the aircraft's standard L-bandSwiftBroadband system. Designed to operate with the ViaSat Yonder®high-speed Internet service and available through service partners**,the system offers increased connectivity and multi-regional servicecoverage.

With Yonder high-speed Internetservice, the Global 5000 and Global 6000 business jets will feature fullInternet connectivity, Virtual Private Network, e-mailwith attachments via laptops, voice-over IP and the use of otherWi-Fi devices. The high-speed data suite includes typical* downloadspeeds to aircraft of above 1 megabits per second and upload fromthe aircraft speeds of more than 128 kilobits per second.
The ViaSat VMT-1500 shipset
Thehigh-speed Internet suite includes the ViaSat VMT-1500 shipset and EMSAviation's CNX® 200 Network Accelerator that provides bandwidthusage optimization through data compression algorithms for the selectedlink, and automatic switching modes based on connected link quality oravailability.
