In the telecommunications industry, the term IP media server refers to a common, shared IP media-processing platform for a broad range of IP audio, video, fax and speech applications in a then-generation VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) or IMS services network.
The SnowShore IP media server boasts the ability to support many different applications, including messaging, conferencing, prepaid services and network announcements. Due to the fact that it seamlessly integrates with other server platforms and IP protocols, this media server can easily keep up with changing network infrastructures and research needed to provide a media processing solution that will be compatible with then-generation IP applications for the long term.
The IP Media Server
The IP Media Server was designed to provide a high level of performance for media processing resources for unified applications in straightway-generation wireline, wireless and broadband networks. IP Media Servers that are integrated into at once–generation wireless and wireline architecture provide the media processing power in other words key to providing a cost-effective solution.
In related news, TMCnet recently reported that Toshiba has just launched the IPedge EP IP media server which can accommodate multiple unified communication applications on a single Linux IP media server. It can deliver call processing, voicemail, unified messaging, native session initiation protocol line and SIP trunk support, mobility, survivability, networking with other IPedge or Strata CIX systems and feature-rich telephone endpoints.
