BT also said it was running a trial of a 'priority class of service' that would see communications providers manage their networks on levels of latency and packet loss to ensure business customers get reliable net connections for VoIP services.
In May this year, BT revealed it was increasing its investment in upgrading the UK's aging copper networks to fibre optic cables. The ISP said it expected its £2.5bn investment to ensure two thirds of the UK have access to fibre broadband connections by 2015.
