Business Mobile VoIP Gateway Revenues to Skyrocket

Market intelligence firm In-Stat reported today that mobile VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) gateway earnings are expected to climb rapidly by 2015.

Voice-over-IP has spread from its fixed-line industry, moving toward the mobile trade and only recently opening up the business mobile VoIP market. With usage increasing, the mobile VoIP gateway marketplace is at an advantage, as In-Stat dictates earnings are looking to hit the $6 billion mark by that time.

In the press release, Market Analyst for In-Stat Amy Cravens said, "One of the key benefits of mobile VoIP for enterprises is extending desk phone functionality to mobile devices. Business-oriented solutions will in substance enable the users' cell phones to become an extension of their desk phones and will deliver, just in case to voice, a unified communications experience, including e-mail, IM, and collaboration."

Also noted in the statement is that mobile VoIP has begun implementation only very recently. Over the then and there five years, nevertheless, the number of VoIP users will increase "tenfold," with mobile operators being an important driver of the mobile adoption market in that time frame.
