Closer look at the Archos 35 Home Connect
The Archos 35 Home Connect is sort of a cross between a clock radio, a portable stereo, and an Android smartphone. In all seriousness. It’s little little device with a 3.5 inch touchscreen display, two relatively large speakers, and Android 2.2 Froyo. It can stream music from thousands of internet radio stations, view weather forecasts, or simply work as an alarm clock.
The device to view pictures
But you can as well use the device to view pictures, watch videos, play games, or just about anything you can do with an Android phone except make calls — even though if you have an internet connection handy you could use the built-in mic and camera to make VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) voice and video calls.
It appears the Home Connect has the custom music player that Archos has been using for its touchscreen tablets for a little during. There’s as well an interesting photo slideshow app. Internet radio functionality seems to be handled by the TuneIn Radio app.
In the later portion of the video you can as well see the Archos 35 Smart Home Phone. It looks like a cheap Android cellphone, nevertheless it’s in fact designed to replace your land line, not your cellphone.
