Cloud mints money at C-Change

BANGALORE, INDIA: A polemic discussion on 'Cloud Computing: Will Cloud save money' analyzed many facets and inhibitions of clouds at C-Change 2011 here on Friday.

The panel discussion

The panel discussion was chaired by Kumar Parakala, KPMG; T G Dhandapani, TVS Group; Sanjeev Kumar, Adhunik Group, and Seema Ambastha, director, Research,  VMware. The panel was moderated by Prashanth Hebbar, editor, DARE.

Ambastha reiterated, "Try to learn along the journey and be comfortable with the research. And when you get the right possibility, take the big decision."

The myths around cloud computing

T G Dhandapani spoke about the myths around cloud computing. Cloud can make money only if IT infrastructure, implementation and adoptional issues are addressed. Trust factor, reliability, complexity, security and interoperability etc are some obvious issues when one thinks of taking popular cloud options to an enterprise level.

Kumar Parekala, said, "Cloud can save business. The basic scenario in today's industry is that cost is increasing and whereas business benefits are decreasing. Cloud can evolve new business models, create more opportunities. So what money means to cloud is business and opportunities."
