CloudTP acquires Global Green Consulting

Boston-based cloud computing consulting startup Cloud Research Partners Inc. continues its growth with the acquisition of Global Green Consulting Group Inc., a Marlborough firm focused on the energy management, sustainability and data center power management markets. Financial details of the deal were not released, however officials said that Global Green will be integrated into the cloudTP cloud solutions unit. Joining cloudTP as executive vice president, sales and marketing, will be Global Green founder and president Jim Lampert. CloudTP founder and CEO Chris Greendale called the acquisition a "no brainer for a number of reasons." Greendale, co-founder of Cambridge Research Partners, launched cloudTP in early 2010. In January of this year the company had its official launch, having grown from just five employees in May 2010 to roughly 40 by the end of February. According to Greendale, five of the company’s first 11 hires in that period were Cambridge Research Partners veterans, including Erik Sebesta, the company’s chief architect and technology officer. Cambridge Technology Partners, Greendale’s first success story, went public in the 1990s, reaching more than $850 million in revenue, and a market cap of more than $5 billion. In 1997, he founded Breakaway Solutions, an e-commerce-focused integrator that as well went public with a market cap of over $7 billion. Afterwards Breakaway, Greendale was a venture partner at venture capital firm GrandBanks Capital of Wellesley, and a managing partner at Kodiak Partners, a Waltham VC firm. He left Kodiak in 2008.
