
Commissioners discuss plans for state conference
Also Monday, the board approved the purchase of a new E-911phone system similar to one adopted in Rocky Mount. The currentsystem, supported by Centurylink, will be outdated after March2011.
The county is planning to purchase a new voice over internetprotocol (VOIP) system, new software and a Netclock, which is usedto maintain times for the phone system.
The county has bids of $228,609 for the VOIP system
The county has bids of $228,609 for the VOIP system, $10,667 fornew Evergreen software and $7,333 for the Netclock in addition toother costs associated with maintenance. Funding would come fromthe E-911 fund.
