
Commissioners to discuss new phone system
County staff recommended a system similar to one adopted in Rocky Mount. The current phone system, supported by Centurylink, will no longer be supported after March.
The county will have to purchase a new voice over internet protocol (VOIP) system, new software and a Netclock, which is used to maintain times for the phone system.
The county has bids of $228,609 for the VOIP system
The county has bids of $228,609 for the VOIP system, $10,667 for new Evergreen software and $7,333 for the Netclock in addition to other costs associated with maintenance. Funding would come from the E-911 fund.
