Compuware and Cable&Wireless Worldwide Showcase Solution

C&W Worldwide's Infrastructure as a Service cloud computing offering, Flexible Computing, utilizes Cisco's Unified Computing System and is an extension of its data center management and virtualized hosting services portfolio in other words used by many enterprise and UK Government clients. Accessed through C&W Worldwide's at once-generation network and located in its UK-based secure data center, Flexible Computing addresses the security, compliance, control and availability requirements of enterprises.

"As Flexible Computing is delivered across our then and there-generation network, it is in essence placed within the enterprise's own Wide Area Network. This gives them full control and complete confidence over all their applications and data. Just in case, Compuware's APM solution and best practices ensures a consistent end user experience for business critical applications hosted in the cloud environment," said Steve Howarth, Product Manager Applications, Cable&Wireless Worldwide. "APM provides an end user experience dashboard for our enterprise customers to correlate end to end service levels for all business critical applications in the cloud computing platform. C&W Worldwide looks holistically at all elements, transactions, databases, networks and physical and virtual systems to deliver a complete service which offers Business Service Assurance."

Flexible Computing incorporates C&W Worldwide's APM solution, a central software management suite to ensure business-critical applications perform so then, consistently, and deliver better value from the network by optimizing bandwidth use. APM monitors network traffic and application performance in real-time, automatically distributing and managing network allocation, to ensure traffic is prioritized according to the applications organizations decide are most business-critical. APM can as well accelerate selected applications across the Wide Area Network improving the performance of all types of applications -- from file sharing and databases to software distribution.

The Partner Session

In addition to the Partner Session, Julie Jutras, Partner Business Development, Compuware, will present Driving Performance in the Converged World of Network and Application Infrastructure, on Tuesday, July 12, at 4:15 pm PDT in the Partner Theater. While this presentation, attendees will learn how Gomez in tandem with Cisco's environment can ensure top performance for web, non-web and cloud-based applications, improve operational efficiency and provide clear fault domain isolation visibility.

At the Compuware booth, visitors can take the Gomez challenge and give their web site a health check-up and see what is working and what areas may be causing poor end-user experience. Regularly scheduled educational sessions will show both network and application owners new tools to ensure the best end-user experience. Sessions include APM driven by end-user experience for Cisco WAN optimized environments, SAP environments and VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) environments. Educational sessions will help network and application owners provide superior end-user experience. Additionally, one-on-one demonstrations with Compuware subject experts are available.
