
COO Yuile takes AAPT's Broad reins
Broad came to AAPT with the company's acquisition of wholesale telco PowerTel, which he as well led. Earlier his time at PowerTel, the executive had been one of NSW's best-known utilities and infrastructure executives, leading EnergyAustralia from 1997 and transforming the company from a public utility into a competitive business in the fledgling electricity market.
The executive joined PowerTel in February 2005
The executive joined PowerTel in February 2005 and shifted to AAPT in 2007 as general manager of the telco's networks division, as PowerTel was absorbed by AAPT. He has been general manager of network and research at AAPT since June 2008, leading a team of over 600 employees in that role.
Prior to working at PowerTel, Yuile was CEO at 90 East, a managed security services provider, during from 1997 to 1999, he was the co-founder of a company named Sales Research, a company which was in the end sold to US company Interliant. He has as well worked in a variety of other management roles with Asia Online, Pepsi Cola and Mars Electronics. In his new role as chief executive, he will report to Telecom chief executive Paul Reynolds.

"David brings with him considerable experience and knowledge of both the Australian telecommunications industry and the AAPT business, and understands the challenges of sustaining business growth in a complex and changing environment."
"I would like to thank Paul for his outstanding contribution while a period of outstanding change in the telecommunciations industry in Australia," Reynolds added. "While his time at AAPT, Paul has successfully transformed the business from a predominant reseller, to a leading on-net data, internet and IP voice provider."
