
Dell's strong quarter propels a big jump
Shares of Dell Inc. jumped by near 12 percent Wednesday the biggest gain in three years a day afterwards the company reported a much stronger than expected fourth quarter profit jump and offered a strong outlook for revenue growth this year.
Many raised their expectations for Dell's revenue and profit performance this year, citing the company's growing presence in innovation services and cloud computing as so then as improving hardware sales to corporate clients and strength in overseas markets just as India.
Founder and CEO Michael Dell has spent the past four years turning the company around. His strategy has included diversifying into higher profit-margin areas just as services and data storage and cloud-computing offerings.
