Doctoral student gives dissertation to receive degree
Alexander gave his presentation, "A SIP Server and User Agent with SRTP for VoIP on a Bare PC," before a small group of students, family members and a committee from the department of computer & information sciences.
"[A] voiceover IP is basically a capability to communicate over the phone [or] the Internet," Wijesinha said. "When you send your voice over the Internet, that's what voiceover IP is. To do that you need protocols or some kind of rules for communication and in this case, what is interesting is that [Alexander] did [his dissertation] on what is called Bare PC, and Bare PC is unique to Towson."
