E911 Gets a Hand from dash Carrier Services
The comprehensive managed service, known as dashESP, receives emergency calls from competitive local exchange carriers and VoIP service providers and transmits them directly to Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs). The new solution can be integrated without complication due to the fact that it runs through existing equipment that does not need to be modified. Furthermore, the service is in full compliance with NENA NG911 standards.
In related news, dash also announced that Ray Paddock, a veteran of the telecommunications and emergency services space, has recently been brought on as the vice president for public safety.
Paddock was the founder and CEO of StepFunction Strategies, a 911 consulting company. While running the organization, he initiated a number of product development strategies in both the legacy and next generation 911 space. Prior to launching StepFunction Strategies, Paddock held the role of vice president of marketing for Intrado (News - Alert), an emergency communications provider.
“911 authorities can take comfort in our track record and in our veteran team’s ability to navigate them through this transition and help reap the benefits of NG9-1-1,” he added. “The addition of Ray Paddock is a valuable complement to our extensive experience in emergency call routing for carriers and VoIP service providers.”
