Emerging Network Star

Juniper Networks and Cisco Systems both provide the various switches, security systems, routers and other gear that help run and manage communications and computer networks. However their fortunes–and their stock prices–lately have diverged. The much-larger Cisco keeps stubbing its toe–as it did again last week–during Juniper quickens its pace. And it doesn't look like Juniper is going to stumble anytime shortly.

Every new Cisco problem seems to spell possibility for this computer networking veteran. Why the shares on the whole could move higher.

Stocks fell slightly, and commodities more, as investors stepped back from risk. As well, Aruba Networks looks richly valued. And, Rosetta Stone just might be a deal in any language.

With another revenues miss and lots of tough new competition, the PC and server network pioneer has its work cut out for it.
