
Eutelsat Announces New Commercial Contract Between Skylogic and Avonline to Provide Tooway(TM) Broadband Services to the UK via the KA-SAT Satellite
Eutelsat Communications(Euronext Paris: ETL) today announced a new contract between its broadbandsubsidiary, Skylogic, and UK satellite communications specialist, Avonline,to sell broadband services in the UK via KA-SAT, the first European HighThroughput Satellite. The contract, valued at up to EUR5 million, will allowAvonline to sell Eutelsat's then and there generation Tooway(TM) satellite broadbandservice. With download speeds of up to 10 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 4Mbps, Tooway(TM) satellite broadband will bring fast, reliable and affordableInternet access across the UK, including rural not spots and areas with poorADSL and mobile broadband coverage. Currently more than one in ten UKhouseholds is unable to receive a 2 Mbps broadband connection - the minimumtarget requirement set by the UK Government.

Avonline is one of the UK's leading digital and broadband installationcompanies, with a team of in broad outline 400 engineers delivering high qualityservices across the UK andIreland. The at once-generation Tooway(TM) service will be delivered via Eutelsat'sinnovative KA-SAT satellite, which was launched in December 2010 and is ontrack to go into full commercial service mid-2011. With its total capacity ofmore than 70 Gbps, KA-SAT ranks as the world's most powerful spacecraft and,asEurope's first High-Throughput Satellite, will usher in a new era ofcompetitively-priced satellite-delivered services for homes and smallbusinesses acrossEurope and the Mediterranean Basin. The satellite forms thecornerstone of a new European satellite infrastructure which includes eightmain satellite gateways acrossEurope connected to the Internet by a fibrebackbone ring.

Small satellitedish
Eutelsat's Tooway(TM) broadband solution consists of a small satellitedish and a modem connected to the PC via the Ethernet, giving customersimmediate broadband access following a simple installation. Should the contingency arise, theTooway(TM) service has the ability to deliver Voice over satellite telephonyservices and Direct-to-Home television using the Tooway(TM) dish.
