Even Coalition MP's are excited for the NBN

"The Australian public knows the Coalition's broadband plans are second rate and would cost families more to access an inferior internet service," Conroy said, citing recent reports as showing that the Coalition's less ambitious plans would "cost the Australian economy tens of billions of dollars in lost economic benefits."

NBN Co, the organisation responsible for the network, will in the near future begin work on the second stage mainland sites, which will build upon the first release locations scattered across mainland Australia.

Earlier this month, an unofficial petition was launched by one Australian hoping to gain more feedback from fellow citizens about the NBN, which he hopes will be able to provide more adequate information for the network's roll-out by NBN Co.
