Gigamon Gets Help from Cohort Technology
Network monitoring provider Gigamon’s plan to align with Cohort Innovation for expansion in the U.K. is occurring at full speed – however it’s a bold one.
The two firms â Gigamon
The two firms – Gigamon, a manufacturer of network monitoring products for data centers, service providers and enterprise networks, and Cohort, a U.K.-based provider of valued-added technical and support services to vendors and partners – will collaborate to distribute Gigamon’s out-of-band innovation to the U.K., a market not earlier touched by Gigamon.
Though the company is a fresh face for the country, its network monitoring innovation has been deployed on a larger scale throughout the globe, according to Grahame Smee, managing director of Cohort, which boasts of a "services-driven approach" that in the long run led to this collaboration.
"I have no doubt that we will be making some disruptive, however positive, changes to the networking space," said Smee. "This has to be good news for partners who choose to work with us."
Collaboration with clients, according to Gigamon, to offer solutions just as its GigaVUE intelligent data access switch will be a significant change for resellers to bring fresh hardware infrastructure to clients’ networks. This as well guarantees an array of advantages just as the elimination of the often long change order management process, and tool centralization. Should the contingency arise, authorized resellers will as well receive 25 percent margin sales on both hardware and support, as then as secured services earnings.
Gap between network infrastructure
"Gigamon believes that businesses are in essence experiencing a gap between network infrastructure and the tools used to manage and monitor the network which needs to be bridged," said Derek Jackman, vice president of Gigamon EMEA. "Whether the network is being reviewed for performance, compliance, security or audit reasons the fundamental challenge that needs to be overcome to ensure success remains the same – that all network devices are connected together, and working in parallel, to ensure that data is flowing effectively to the relevant tools."
