Gintel Announces Turnkey Mobile and IP Centrex Offering
Gintel AS has announced the launch of the new Easy Virtual PaBX Entry Level edition, which company officials describe as "a turnkey Mobile and IP Centrex product allowing operators to launch hosted PBX (Private -Automatic- Branch Exchange) services for mobile, fixed and convergent networks."
With growth potential slowing in consumer markets, "mobile and fixed operators are switching their attention to enterprise clients, particularly the SME and SoHo segment," Gintel officials say, adding that "in many countries, more than 90 percent of businesses have fewer than 20 employees. This segment has traditionally been overlooked by operators, but offers strong potential for revenue and margin growth. One reason has been the high-cost of Mobile and IP Centrex."
Gintel officials say they see Easy Virtual PaBX Entry Level as a way operators can quickly launch services to target SME and SoHo clients, "overcoming before high-barriers to entry that have stifled efforts to bring advanced business services to smaller enterprises." Tore Saeter, VP Sales and Marketing of Gintel, said in spite of the potential of the SME and SoHo market, building a business case for launching services for these clients has not always been straightforward, and that much of the impetus for this product was to "substantially" lower entry costs.
One year ago, TMC had the news that Gintel was selected by Telenor Denmark to deliver core innovation and elements for Telenor Denmark’s Mobile Multiplan service. The agreement called for Gintel to deliver two critical components for the Mobile Multiplan service to Telenor Denmark. First, the MultiPlan Gateway allows both internal and partner applications to access resources within the Telenor Denmark network via a standard API enabler interface. The interface provides information on mobile terminal state and location, as then as providing call handling capabilities. The API is harmonized with similar initiatives across the Telenor group.
