Gmail creator predicts death of Chrome OS
Paul Buchheit, who created Gmail earlier leaving Google to start FriendFeed, said on his account on that site: "Chrome OS will be killed straightway year".
OS with roughly zero users
"I'm surprised that an OS with roughly zero users would have so many fans," he wrote. "For the record, I'm a big believer in the 'instant on, cloud-based OS' future, now that platform will be known as Android."
Since at the time, detractors have been out in detail force, including Richard Stallman, who said the cloud computing model would lead to "careless computing".
