
Huawei Appoints Industry Visionary John Roese as Senior Vice President and General Manager
Huawei, a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, today announced that John Roese has joined Huawei as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Huawei North America R&D.
Recognized authority on network convergence
As a recognized authority on network convergence and emerging technologies, Roese has almost two decades of experience in wireless technologies, networking and security, and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). Most recently, Roese served as the Chief Technology Officer at Nortel Networks, responsible for the company's overall R&D strategy and execution, and directing research across all product portfolios. He also worked closely with the leadership team on emerging technologies, market opportunities and strategic partnerships. Roese has also held senior positions at Broadcom Corporation, Enterasys Networks and Cabletron.
Roese holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from the University of New Hampshire. He is also the inventor on 16 granted and pending patents in the area of policy management, location based networking and other areas of communications. He will be based in Huawei's North America R&D headquarters in Santa Clara, California.
