
IB move to block free movement of explosives
The Jharkhand police had, while the meet, proposed creation of two separate working groups to study the issues connected with Skype communication, and integration of National Population Register(N)PR and Unparalleled Identification(UID) databases. Agreeing to the demand of the Jharkhand police, the IB has decided to constitute two separate working groups on these issues.
The working group on integration of NPR
While DGP of Bihar will head the working group on integration of NPR and UID databases with representatives from police from metropolitan cities, the IB will head the working group on Skype communication, an issue on which Punjab police has as well flagged concerns.
Off late, the terrorists have as well come to notice for using encrypted communication and proxy servers and WiFi connections for accessing internet from their VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol)-enabled cell phones and are increasingly becoming tech savvy with a view to avoid detection by the security agencies.
These groups are expected to formulate strategies to deal with the issues, including suggestions for revisiting the regulatory policies governing the storage, movement, sale and use of ammonium nitrate and developing de-encryption software in order to develop improved gathering of technical intelligence on the terror groups who use encrypted communication system to evade the radar of security agencies.
