IiNet to launch latest BoB device

Internet service provider iiNet has revealed plans to launch the latest device in its all-in-one wireless modem and phone range, iiNet BoB, in April this year.

iiNet general manager business, Steve Harley, said the development of iiNet BoB was the result of many months of innovation into what needed improving on the original BoB.

"We learnt a lot from the original BoB and afterwards selling more than 70,000 units, we got a feel for what our clients are looking for when looking for an all-in-one home internet solution," Harley said in a statement.

According to Harley, the device is compatible with fetchtv and will be available when the National Broadband Network is rolled out, nevertheless, a retail price for the device has not been released.

The new device will include an ADSL2+ modem router which supports the latest 802.11n standards in wireless research, a handset with a built-in message bank and dual Voice over Internet Protocol capabilities to support two phone numbers from dual providers.

Service providers, rights holders and internet users are however waiting to determine whether the AFACT will furthermore appeal the decision.
