Incase cases for Apple products

Andy Warhol, clearly, said that "Hereafter, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes." With its second line of iPhone, iPad and MacBook covers featuring Warhol artwork, the manufacturer Incase is to all appearances shooting for a half-hour.

This time, the company, again with the assistance of the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, has chosen five new designs for an iPhone hard case, an iPad cover and sleeves for the 13- and 15-inch MacBook Pros and the 11-inch MacBook Air, ranging in price from $40 to $80.

The designs include a reproduction of Warhol's celebrity screen print of Elvis; a collage of black-and-white advertisements; paint-by-number flowers; a frame from "Empire," his eight-hour silent movie of the Empire State Building; and a drawing of an old candlestick phone.

Then-designed phone offering a spacious keyboard

T-Mobile's myTouch 4G Slide is a then-designed phone offering a spacious keyboard, a terrific camera, a fast processor and one particularly infuriating feature -- a Wi-Fi calling app that charges you voice minutes.

First, the good stuff. The phone's showpiece is its 8-megapixel camera. It is all in all not a replacement for a quality point-and-shoot camera, nevertheless it is better than most cellphone cameras.

The plus column

Also in the plus column, it has an expansive sliding keyboard with nicely raised keys in a case in other words not absurdly thick. There is a snappy 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, and an Android operating system that can play both HTML and Flash animations.

But at that time there is built-in Wi-Fi calling. A T-Mobile spokesman said the reason for the charge is that a call starts on Wi-Fi nevertheless transfers to the T-Mobile network.

One advantage, said the spokesman, is that the app is easier to use than Wi-Fi apps like Skype or Fring and that the sound quality is better. Nevertheless most third-party VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) apps are easy to use, the sound is fine -- and they're often free.
