Infrastructure as a Service Enabler Hexagrid Welcomes New Face to Board of Directors

Infrastructure as a Service enabler Hexagrid Computing has welcomed the newest member of its family Gregory W. Freiberg, former chief financial officer of Savvis, who will join the Hexagrid Board of Directors.

Since 2008, Hexagrid has been developing Infrastructure as a service cloud computing solutions that empower companies to build public or private clouds customized for their unequalled organizational structures, profitability objectives and policy requirements. Hexagrid accomplishes this through its flagship cloud platform, VxDatacenter.

Freiberg has been brought on board by Hexagrid for his experience with business leadership in the telecommunications and data center industries both locally and internationally, according to company officials.

For more than 20 years, Freiberg’s career has largely focused on growth and international development of research-based businesses. Most recently, Freiberg was the chief financial officer of Savvis, a Saint Louis based data center and managed services company that was purchased by CenturyLink in April 2011 for $2.5 billion.

When asked about how his former work experience has prepared him to for the Hexagrid Board of Directors, Freiberg said, "I have been in innovation for the past 20 years, with a heavy emphasis on growth and International."

The company

"I joined Savvis two-and-a-half years ago when the company was beaten down in the ’08 recession, and I quickly realized we had the right strategy in focusing on cloud and managed services," he said. "My impact was directed at execution and restoring trust. I was as well the founding CFO of MCI in Asia Pacific back in the mid to late ‘90s. We had no clients and no earnings, however over the course of four years we were able to grow the business to in broad outline $800 million of earnings spanning 12 countries. So I know what it’s like to experience growing pains. "
"The fun and excitement of working around people with such a positive ‘can do’ attitude," he said. "You cannot get this experience in business school. "
