
International CTIA Wireless 2011?? to Display Products and Services Impacting Every Aspect of Mobile Life
WASHINGTON, March 15, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- At the International CTIA WIRELESS 2011 tradeshow and conference, more than 40,000 attendees from 125 countries will view products and services spanning every aspect of mobile life - from personal communications to mobile social commerce, wireless health, smart energy and transportation applications. The Emerging Research Zone will give attendees a glimpse into the future of mobility spanning vertical markets through dedicated pavilions for Cloud Computing, mCommerce, Safe Driving, the Telecom Council Technology Showcase and Wireless Health. This area will as well feature the Launch Pad, a special pavilion for start-up companies, and the CTIA Emerging Innovation Awards showcase.
On Tuesday, March 22 at 9:00 a.m., the keynote stage will feature opening remarks from 2011 CTIA Chairman Dan Hesse, CEO of Sprint Nextel Corporation, an address from FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski and a keynote roundtable of the CEOs of the four largest U.S. mobile carriers. Ralph de la Vega of AT&T, Dan Hesse of Sprint, Philipp Humm of T-Mobile and Dan Mead of Verizon Wireless will provide insight on mobile broadband futures and the impact of wireless data connectivity in a discussion moderated by CNBC personality Jim Cramer.
On Wednesday, March 23 at 9:00 a.m., Yang Jie, executive vice president for China Telecom, will provide a global perspective on the mobile industry from the world's fastest-growing market. Sanjiv Ahuja, chairman and CEO of LightSquared, will share insights and predictions for the future of wireless data. Hans Vestberg, president and CEO of Ericsson, will discuss mobile's in a class by itself role in shaping the "Networked Society." Expanding on the transformative power of wireless, Vestberg will be joined by Patrick In the near future-Shiong, M.D., chairman and CEO at the Institute for Advanced Health, who will demonstrate how wireless is reengineering the healthcare industry.
On Thursday, March 24 at 9:30 a.m., CNBC anchor Michelle Caruso-Cabrera will moderate a discussion with Kenneth Roth, executive director of Human Rights Watch; John Stanton, chairman of the board of Trilogy International Partners; and Biz Stone, co-founder of Twitter, on mobile research's role in organizing communities, shaping political decisions and stimulating economic development worldwide.
CTIA's revamped educational program - The Executive Forum - will feature 30 interactive sessions focused on high-growth sectors and timely issues shaping mobile technology. Topics include: cloud computing; mobile payments; social networking; mobile search; marketing and advertising; mobile content; location-based services; devices and operating systems; wireless network infrastructure; and retail.
International CTIA WIRELESS 2011 will as well host 30 partner conferences and seminars.
