Internode offers cloud-based Mitel IP PBX & UC services
Internode has formed a partnership with unified communications research company, Mitel and systems integrator, Tie Networks, pursuant to this agreement which Internode will host the virtualised version of the Mitel IP telephony platform with Tie Networks configuring and customising the platform for individual users.
Separate move
In a separate move, Internode has as well announced that it can port 100 number blocks of business telephone numbers from Telstra or Optus to its NodePhone VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) service.
From today, Internode clients have access to Mitel's vMCD, a real-time hosted IP PABX application that manages unified communications, and which is controlled and configured via a Web-based management tool. It offers standard PABX functions just as hold, transfer, park, paging and hunt, plus enhanced features just as hot-desking, multi-party conferencing, voice to email and access to Mitel's range of IP phones.
Mitel released the Mitel Communications Director software for VMware vSphere 4 in late 2009, billing it as the first real time voice applications designed for the VMware vSphere 4 platforms, along with VMware versions of other Mitel applications including Mitel Unified Communicator Advanced, Mitel Contact Centre Solutions, and Mitel Enterprise Manager. Telstra has been offering Mitel software in accordance with VMware since late 2010.
