IP Transit Provider Supplies Internet Services to Bournemouth Air Festival

UK-based C4L, a provider of colocation, IP transit and data storage solutions, recently announced that it was chosen as the official supplier of Internet connectivity services for the Bournemouth Air Festival, which took place at the end of August.

In an effort to provide free high-speed Internet services to their patrons, officials with the air show reached out to Etherlive, a local event and specialist IT services provider. Etherlive approached C4L after learning of the company’s recently launched Wireless Leased Line service, which is designed to address the ever-widening gap between broadband speeds in areas near the telephone exchange, and those that are further away.

“When we were approached by Etherlive, we were more than happy to oblige to their request of our using our services to provide the Bournemouth Air Show with Internet connectivity,” said Matt Hawkins, Managing Director of C4L.

In order to provide high-speed Internet access to those who attended the show, C4L established a wireless point-to-point link that covered the Cumberland Hotel area and the nearby beach. To accomplish this goal, the company deployed an antenna on the roof of the Bournemouth Data Center and linked it to a similar piece of equipment located at the hotel. The system allowed patrons across a three-mile radius to have access to the Internet.

Furthermore, Etherlive provided a variety of key communication services and products – including wireless VoIP phones – to event organizers in need. This was made possible by C4L’s Wireless Leased Line service.
