ITunes 11 to get radical overhaul

Rumor has it that Apple's music management software, iTunes, will soon be overhauled, possibly resulting at length integration with the company's new cloud-based storage service, iCloud.

The last time Apple's iTunes underwent any significant changes was nearly a year ago with the launch of version 10. That release saw the introduction of Ping, 99-cent TV-program downloads, several syncing improvements, AirPlay support, and a few visual changes to its interface.

AT&T Inc. said Friday that it's going to start limiting speeds for the 5 percent of its clients with "unlimited" data smartphone plans who clog the airwaves the most.

The second quarter as weakness in semiconductors

Samsung's net profit slid 18 percent in the second quarter as weakness in semiconductors and liquid crystal displays countered the electronics giant's growing strength in smartphones.
