Legacy Siemens Class 5 Switches to be Replaced by Taqua's T7000

Legacy Siemens (News - Alert) systems of two more rural independent telephone companies will be replaced with Taqua’s T7000 Intelligent Switching System or T7000. An announcement in this regard has been made by Taqua (News - Alert), LLC. Taqua is a top supplier of next-generation wireline and wireless switching and backhaul solutions.

Easter Iowa communities of Olin and Morley are provided business and residential telephony by Olin Telephone Company. The Company also provides internet dial-up, DSL, and cable services to the communities. The Southeastern Texas community of Memorial Point has been served by Lake Livingston Telephone Company since 1974. A variety of dial-up, broadband, telephony and cable services are provided to their respective communities by the two companies.

Olin and Lake Livingston have chosen to replace their legacy Class 5 Siemens’ DCO and Strongberg Carlson telephone switching systems with the T7000. This is done in order to continue providing its subscriber base with cost-effective, advanced telephone features.

In a release, Rodney Cozart, GM, Olin Telephone said, “The T7000 is a flexible switching solution that integrates with our existing network infrastructure and enables the cost-effective delivery of the latest services that our customers demand. With the system’s Class 5 on a card architecture, it truly future proofs our telephony network.”

According to Terry Gentle, GM, Lake Livingston Telephone, due to the reputation of T7000 as a proven switch replacement, their company selected Taqua’s T7000. The reputation of Taqua in the market also played a major role in the selection. Scores of legacy Class 5s have been replaced by T7000. Taqua’s customer service is also the best, added Gentle.
