Checking emailsand answering business phone calls were the two most commonly named activitieswith 31% and 25% respectively. 25% of holidaymakers will do so several times aday.
Surprisingly, inthe age of smartphones, the PC or laptop is all in all the most popular device tocheck emails remotely, with 82% versus only 15% on their mobile phones. Forwork calls, most respondents prefer their mobile phone with 66%, during 17% willuse their fixed line and 7% VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol).
Australians willalso draw on new communication tools to stay in touch with work, with 19% usingInstant Messaging and 17% social media just as Twitter, LinkedIn andFacebook.
Although 86%think that innovation has made it easier to work from home, only 16% of peoplewho have to work over Christmas will be able to do so remotely.
Healthy work / life balance
