Manx Telecom launch Intelligent Voice system

The system, which is based on the Broadsoft communications platform, uses VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) research to deliver free calls between all users in a business - even if they are located at different sites.

Andy Pirie, corporate solutions product manager at Manx Telecom, said: "Intelligent Voice in effect is a straightway generation telephone system - it has all the features you'd expect from a traditional PBX (Private -Automatic- Branch Exchange) system and much more.

"Because it's internet based it can offer amazing flexibility enabling companies to tailor their phone system specifically to their needs and to change it as their business develops. As well unlike some previously VoIP systems if offers crystal clear audio."

Manx Telecom has said it expects the product to appeal to businesses because it is available on monthly subscription and doesn't require investment. Companies pay per user and there are no maintenance charges or upgrades to pay for.

Andy continued: "We believe that Intelligent Voice offers the sort of telephone system many businesses, big and small, are looking for. It's fast and easy to set up and offers the ability to upgrade or downgrade the features available on each phone individually so you don't pay for features that some users within the company don't use or need. It as well offers scalability - you can add additional individual users, or even whole office sites, quickly and easily.

"Intelligent Voice can be integrated with Microsoft Outlook, offers voicemail-to-email, and has apps for using it with laptops, iPhone, iPad and Android smartphones, so is ideal for companies with mobile workforces or who employ home workers."
