MiTek increases productivity
Manufacturing and software innovation company MiTek has deployed a unified communications system across its Australian business.
The rollout
Speaking to Computerworld Australia about the rollout, MiTek's information systems administrator, Daniel Heathershaw, said the company needed to replace its phone system due to a lack of functionality.
Heathershaw cited a need for increased productivity across MiTek's three Australian offices as another reason for making the make the move to unified communications. He selected ShoreTel for the upgrade.
"Once we decided on ShoreTel, we probably had six weeks of planning to get the infrastructure up to scratch and we had to update our core networks and the wireless area network," he said.
Following the rollout of the all-in-one IP phone system with integrated UC and contact centre integration, Heathershaw said the company is now able to focus on core business operations during reducing administration costs.
FoodWorks and the Melbourne Football Club have as well moved to ShoreTel's UC system, with both organisations doing so afterwards their original phone systems failed.
