Mobile KVM Access for SmartPhones and Tablets Will Help Manage Data Centers from Anywhere
Raritan recently announced that it has introduced the first KVM-over-IP switch that enables the use of SmartPhones and tablets to manage remote servers. By making use of Apple iPhones and iPads, IT administrators who are on the road, will now be able to obtain secure BIOS-level access to servers that are managed by Raritan's Dominion KX II release 2.4 and CommandCenter-Secure Gateway release 5.2.
The Dominion KX's SmartPhone/Tablet KVM Access feature leverages a browser-based mobile client that makes remote access easy since there is no KVM client or application that needs to be downloaded on these devices. IT administrators will now be able to have immediate secure access to servers with a single click and will be able to start performing diagnostics and other server management tasks.
Another industry first for a multi-port KVM-over-IP switch is the new firmware for Dominion KX II which provides end-to-end Digital Audio over IP. IT administrators, by making use of Digital Audio, will now be able to playback and record from remote audio applications, and as well be able to manage these applications at anytime and from anywhere. Clients who are in the broadcast/media industry can as well make use of this new feature and use it to help manage their Audio/Video applications, including Streaming Media, Internet TV, Video Editing and Production, Web Casting, Video Teleconferencing, Digital Signage, TV Production and Operation Centers.
