Network Equipment Technologies and Convergent Partner to Implement VoIP Unified
Network Equipment Technologies (NET) and Convergent announced that Red Wing Shoe Company has deployed NET's VX Series as the organization's VoIP solution.
NET's VX Series, which is qualified for Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) 2007, gives Red Wing Shoe a core switching point for all its voice related services, enabling migration to a unified communications environment.
Long-time client of Convergent
Red Wing Shoe Company has been a long-time client of Convergent and trusts us to design, deploy, and maintain their communications system, said Khai Tran, CEO of Convergent. We brought NET into the relationship for two reasons, their product is the best available and the company is committed to outstanding service and support. This made the difference in solidifying NET's role in a full-circle partnership with the customer.
Together, NET and Convergent set up the VX Series platform as an integration point into the client's current Avaya PBX with Microsoft OCS, featuring telephony and VoIP capabilities. The system is designed for future migration to full Microsoft Enterprise Voice services in Red Wing's headquarters facility and their branch stores.
Microsoft OCS solution
We are very eager to work with Convergent to provide Red Wing Shoe a Microsoft OCS solution, said Matthew Krueger, VP of Corporate Marketing and Business Development at NET. With Convergent's expertise with Microsoft unified communications, the implementation was seamless. This was a result of their relationship with Red Wing Shoe combined with knowledge of media gateways and legacy telephony systems.
Convergent has made an investment in a talented staff including those with experience in legacy telephone systems along with experts in telephony and infrastructure, explained Tran. Many clients, like Red Wing, need to bridge legacy systems with new technology and we chose NET's products because of their ability to interface with an Avaya PBX, Microsoft OCS and Active Directory. Also, we needed a solution with security, ease of management and differentiated call processing capabilities.
Network Equipment Technologies provides network and VoIP solutions to enterprises and government agencies that seek to reduce the cost to deploy unified and secure communications applications.
