Network Equipment Technologies Announces Support

Network Equipment Technologies, Inc. announced today that its VX Series with Session Border Controller, a qualified gateway for Microsoft Lync Server 2010, is now additionally qualified to work with Verizon Business SIP Trunking service.

Qualification testing of NET's VX Series with Verizon Business SIP Trunking was performed by tekVizion Labs, an independent test lab that offers interoperability certification and verification of products and applications. Clients can use the VX Series with SBC for interworking PSTN, SIP trunk, H323, and other legacy interfaces, allowing clients to migrate from legacy telecom networks to unified communications from Microsoft Corp.

The VX Series in an SBC role provides high-performance VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) communications for enterprise Microsoft Lync deployments with Verizon's network. The VX Series routes SIP sessions, converts signaling and media between Microsoft Lync and the Verizon SIP trunk, and acts as a demarcation device between the enterprise network and the Verizon network for establishing a reliable communication service.

"We are pleased to receive the certification of Verizon Business SIP Trunking service. Interest in SIP trunking services is increasing as clients are looking to reduce their operational expenses during increasing productivity through the help of Microsoft Lync. Enterprise clients can securely connect with Verizon Business SIP Trunking services using NET's VX Series with SBC to begin to realize these benefits," said Kevin Isacks, Chief Research Officer of NET.
