Open Source Luminary to Keynote AstriCon 2011

Mårten Mickos to Outline How Large Enterprises are Driving Open Source Adoption, How the Traditional Software Stack is Changing and Key Drivers of Cloud Computing

Mickos is a proven research leader who, as CEO of MySQL AB for seven years, took the company from start-up to the second largest open source company in the world. MySQL was acquired by Sun Microsystems for one billion dollars and Mickos at the time held a leadership position in Sun's database group. Most recently, Mickos was named CEO of Eucalyptus Systems, the company behind Eucalyptus, the most widely deployed open source software platform for on-premise Infrastructure as a Service clouds.
