In his view, the more transparent the party can be and the more information he can provide the International community with, the more involved they will become with and knowledgeable about life at Torrevieja’s Town Hall.

While political parties in the UK and USA have embraced the Internet for many years, the Spanish in general have been slow to see the potential and benefits that the world wide web has to offer, preferring tradition forms of marketing, publicity and communications, just as newspapers, leaflet distribution, radio announcements and TV advertising. Because of advances in VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), video chatting with friends and family, SKYPE and other services, the internet revolution along the coast has been headed by the International residents and visitors.

Number of meetings with the International Community

During a number of meetings with the International Community, the power of the internet was high on the agenda and seen as a very valuable way to keep residents updated on what is happening in Torrevieja.
