PBX System Provider Positron Releases V-600 Quad E1/T1 PCIe Telephony Board

Positron Telecommunication Systems, which provides telephony and VoIP networking equipment for consumer and enterprise markets, has released the new V-600 Quad E1/T1 PCI (News - Alert) Express (PCIe) telephony board.

The V-600 comes equipped with four E1/T1 interfaces

The V-600 comes equipped with four E1/T1 interfaces, 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet, PCIe 1x, integrated SATA controller for additional storage, real time clock with battery, dedicated on board echo cancellation per channel, and the ability to transcode a wide variety of voice channels. It can be configured as a powerful, feature-rich IP PBX (News - Alert) or as scalable SIP to TDM Gateway. Unlike any adapter on the market today, the V-600 can be installed in a virtual environment such as VMWARE as well as in any operating system, and does not require any CPU resources for processing.

“With the release of this new board, we will surpass the competition because our performance on an open source application, such as Asterisk (News - Alert) and FreePBX, is astonishingly higher,” says McGravie. “Unlike many competitors, we do not require an application to provide SIP protocol support and unlike a growing trend where vendors are creating standalone high density compression chips, we have integrated it into the same board. Our new V-600 adds a new selling point for Positron solutions, which now have the scalability to support applications like Microsoft (News - Alert) OCS, cloud based hosting VoIP and Call Centers. We have the very unique capability of supporting not only the E1/T1 but also supporting the SIP trunking on board. This solution will not only address the performance and scalability issues faced when using any other board vendor, but it also addresses the interoperability challenges faced when connecting to the non-standard SIP trunk providers.”

Positron Telecommunication Systems creates, develops and markets sophisticated VoIP equipment for enterprise communication and collaboration through communication service providers. The company’s products integrate VoIP and traditional telephony in stand-alone systems that combine ease of use with powerful functionality. Its VoIP devices connect analog devices (telephone, fax and modem) to an IP-Network and Gateways, connect PSTN users to an IP Network or analog PBX, as well as Key Systems to an IP-Network.
