Plixer International Showcases Scrutinizer v8.5 at Cisco Live

Plixer International, Inc., a leading global provider of network traffic monitoring and analysis tools, will showcase Scrutinizer 8.5, the most recent version of its flagship NetFlow and sFlow analysis software suite, at Cisco Live, London 2011.

In contrast to other NetFlow analysis programs, Scrutinizer reports on Cisco Performance Monitor Reports which help troubleshoot Cisco Medianets as so then as most IP-based time sensitive applications. In the latest version of the Cisco IOS, measurements just as Jitter, Latency, and Packet loss are exported in Flexible NetFlow version 9. Traditionally, NetFlow v5 and v9 were only used for measuring throughput based on the amount of bytes or packets in a flow. Cisco is one of the first vendors to export information about time sensitivity.

Scrutinizer's extensive support for Flexible NetFlow is what makes Plixer's implementation of Cisco Performance Monitor Reports so unequalled. This innovation allows companies to have insight into call quality of every VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) connection and video stream which is an advancement from the limitations of IP SLA. Many of the toughest application troubleshooting scenarios involve slowness.

Scrutinizer supports cross reporting and selection on the different templates exported in Flexible NetFlow using their Intelligent Template Recognition research(TM) ITR. This is an industry first. If more than one template is being exported by the router, and it meets certain criteria, the user can choose to run a report based on all templates or based on a selected template.
