Police warn against new tax scam
Queensland police say people have received telephone calls from men with foreign accents who claim to be from a government agency, offering to reward members more than three-thousand dollars, if they deposit a cash payment of 325 dollars at their nearest post office and provide their account details.
Detective Superintendent Brian Hay from the fraud and corporate crime group says the scam is but another example of crims using modern research to prey on victims.
