Polycom appoints new CIO

Unified communications company has appointed Ari Bose as senior vice-president and chief information officer, with global responsibility for the vendor's IT organisation and strategic transformation.

Bose will as well oversee Polycom's internal global visual communications network, which supports near 100,000 video calls per month.

Bose is no stranger to transformation. His previous role was as senior vice-president, CIO and business transformation officer with global IP-based networking and telecommunications company, UTStarcom.

The company

During his tenure with the company, he developed a global information strategy, re-engineered business processes and systems to drive transformation, and drove the integration process for several acquisitions.

According to Polycom, Bose and his team will serve as a resource for clients on best practice UC network adoption and to Polycom's product development team, providing input for future research.
