Reaching out to Christchurch

I was on the phone with a friend who was driving out of Christchurch when the first one hit. We both got off the phone and I went through my usual post-earthquake "routine".

One more thing: Judging by our Text The Editor line it seems that telephone scammers are however targeting the region. One of the most common ones which I have had experience with involves a person ringing up and asking for access to your computer and that they are upgrading or fixing Windows software. When challenged on anything, just as handing over details, the person can become quite aggressive and persuasive.
